Pentens SPU-1000 is a highly elastic and weather-resistant liquid waterproof coating, primarily used for waterproofing projects on building roofs, balconies, and underground structures. The key application technique lies in substrate preparation and coating construction. Before construction, the substrate must be solid, flat, dry, and thoroughly cleaned of dust, oil, and loose particles. For cracks or joints in concrete substrates, it is recommended to first treat them with a suitable sealant to ensure that SPU-1000 can form a complete and sealed waterproof membrane.
During application, adhering to the principle of “thin coats, multiple layers” is crucial. Use a roller or brush to evenly apply the first coat. After it is surface dry (typically about 4-6 hours, depending on ambient temperature and humidity), apply the second coat in a cross direction. It is generally recommended to apply at least two coats, with the total thickness meeting the design requirements (usually about 1.5-2.0 mm) to ensure the continuity and durability of the waterproof layer. Each coat must be applied evenly to avoid localized over-thickness or missed spots.
Special attention must be paid to environmental condition control: it is recommended to apply in dry conditions between 5°C and 35°C, avoiding rainy days, high humidity, or strong wind. Avoid foot traffic or water contact within 24 hours after application. Subsequent construction work can only proceed after it is fully cured (approximately 3-7 days). Through precise substrate preparation and layered application, SPU-1000 can form a seamless, highly elastic waterproof layer that effectively resists UV rays, temperature changes, and structural micro-cracks, providing long-term protection for building structures.
